@LikeEngineer @ldnparks @theroyalparks I would have thought that's only really an issue for illegal off road bikes, I don't know if that is a problem there. Legal bikes can be monitored by a camera and fines issued like they are in bus lanes etc.

A trike could be fun though, we'll study them with interest. I know @pedalmeapp use two wheelers as taxis, I'll have to flag one down one day and see who makes them.

@LikeEngineer My mum had a ride of an ebike I had when I went to visit her in London. She took it for a ride through regent's park and when she stopped she completely forgot to put her feet down. Queue a Slo mo fall sideways (onto gr***) I eventually stopped laughing enough to help her up

@LikeEngineer The year after I broke my back for the second time, I did the Edinburgh to St Andrew's ride, and there was a man riding it on a handcycle. I thought he was well hard, and went up to compliment him at the end. He'd broken his back ar exactly the same place as I had.

@HarryMbike @LikeEngineer That is if the nurses can get to hospital but then have to stay at home because teachers aren’t prioritised and the schools are closed. The real problem is in people’s minds. If the *majority* of commuters think they can only commute by car, they have a problem.

On the radio this morning, the guy who was responsible for the response back in 2001 said it’s not possible to prioritise anyone as it turns out a third of the economy are essential

@Dangerdave1979 @LikeEngineer If you need fuel (say you're a care worker in rural areas) and there are fuel shortages, the rational response is to buy it whenever you can. It's why shouting "don't panic" doesn't work. People aren't panicking, they're responding to a problem.

@LikeEngineer My elderly neighbour used to tell me how much she enjoyed cycling, and she still had her bike. But she could no longer carry it up and down four flights of stairs so she wasn't using it anymore. Sorting tenement cycle parking would have made a huge difference for her.

I waited for road be clear in both directions & started crossing Boundary Rd. Van pulls out & turns right and just missed me. Junction is no right turn 🤬

@LikeEngineer I do still want to cut all the wires down as they are too long but that’s more effort and the wires are fine. I’ll need more heat shrink I don’t have too. Oh and I tapped a hole into the basket frame to mount the front light to.

@DrJenBaker @ClemCowton @LikeEngineer @VoltBikesUK if you have more swept back bars, you might want a longer stem (with a higher rise if you want the bars a bit higher) to compensate. A couple cm up/down/back/forward can make a reasonable difference.

@LikeEngineer Another idea is to build up a custom bike with upright geometry. My 1986 Mercian was a light road bike, but now has straight bars, new stem and seat tube that move hands up+back and seat slightly down+back. More upright and no hand pressure.

@LikeEngineer @531forever @tvprp A middle aged lady cycles down an estate road most days as I walk home from work, there's is ZERO traffic. A bloke cycles down the main road on the pavement, there's a cycle track on the other side of the road! I'm not anti-cycling but I am pro-pedestrian.
