@scottie_snipes I believe it, I was in person with a max of 5 students in some of my cl***es and every once in a while some of online students disappeared from the Google meet. They said it was gonna be in person this year because of everything going down and it was gonna be Mon - Fri

@vikramadhiman This is annoying, to make it worse I haven’t bothered to give “always open”, so I get one additional popup. Don’t ask me why. I don’t know. With Google meet I have just been closing tab instead of ending calls😅

BUT. it's not free anymore :( you can also use webcaptioner and have everyone get the share plugin and send you their links, and you can do them individually, BUT they aren't as accurate.

As for the students, in 2020 Yr12 Vic students did the majority of their cl***es & even some exams on Google Meets. It is not worth risking the health of the students, the teachers or families.

Google Meet has added a feature that lowers your hand once it detects you speaking. Such a simple yet great feature that really addresses a problem, and m***ively increases the user experience.

What tech is @NBCOlympics using to video call between athletes and their families? It’s all broken up. They need Google Meet or Zoom or something. My work video conferences to Japan don’t do that.

This was me today. Zoom has you hold down the spacebar to unmute temporarily. For some reason I thought that Google Meet's CMD+D unmute shortcut was a Hold, not a press... So I did this a dozen times in a couple of seconds lol

Our online cl***es continue. My internet was down for a few days & my laptop had crashed. It was like going back to the dark ages. But work had to be done. So I had to manage back to back Google meetings and Zoom conferences that day on my phone. It made me realise how strenuous

Personally, I find no value in moving to clubhouse (except perhaps less crashes). During my talk, there was no crash at all. Is it because, it was hosted from Singapore?

Anyways, he was able to come home this weekend but they are suspending visits starting August 1st. His mom is going to come down to visit him next Saturday before we are back to Zoom and Google Meet for a while.

11.00pm -11.30pm: done some videos and photos to be place in pdf file for easier understanding for the elderly cause i noted some of them having difficulties to use the Google meet.

If you are the speaker during the online meeting (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.) and you know you are going to talk a lot...PLEASE make sure to limit reverb by just adding some acoustic foam panels on your desk (if possible). Cheap/temporary fix and helps a lot! The reverb is no fun🤷♀️
