friends, i absolutely love you all to bits + pieces. the recommendations you're thinking of (e.g. github/gitlab pages, wordpress, squarespace) are also the same ones i've thought of + shared countless times (alongside their caveats).

@gitlab @olearycrew I once spent an entire day chasing down an error because of put a backtick in - originally, I thought it was a piece of dirt on my screen.
(This was 15+ years ago and the stacktrace wasn't ever erroring in the correct file)

@norootcause Such a simple but effective question. Approaches: 1. Google, it’s sometimes the first result. 2. Use issue-specific search operators on GitHub. 3. If still no dice, the project may be on GitLab or BitBucket. 4. If still, still no dice, maybe you have just discovered a new bug

@PaulM That's a really great approach. I had this exact situation with @gitlab last year, whilst the bug was a dupe the extra information from my report resulted in a better understanding of the issue, so they rewarded for it.

I loved @gitlab for its feature set as a VCS & issue tracking. However lately they are just becoming a big, fat, bloated, & opinionated monolithic.
Flexibility was supposed to be the promise of cloud.
