@Kenyanpoet @jmugambi @evernote @NotionHQ Yes, there’s been a few times I’ve resorted to (gasp) Apple Notes instead of trusty Evernote because I wrote something and it didn’t save it well (or couldn’t retrieve). Cc @kiagiri. I do find syncing between devices an issue too.

@kiagiri @evernote Fair, but I don’t use those much. I just want really great search. I probably save +10 links a day with the web clipper but find myself going back to the web for things I know I saved to Evernote. All in all YMMV and I know they’re working just wish they’d lock down the basics.

@jmugambi @MKaigwa @evernote @NotionHQ I have had nothing but a bad experience with @evernote in the last year of my paid subscription. From the (now normalized) duplication of notes on multiple devices to constant updates which rarely fix anything visible to me.
This might just be the time to look for other options

@velpcode So you need to build a system for note taking.
Whenever you come across new ideas write down that idea immediately into some sort of note taking app like Notion or Evernote.

@phoenix_prjct @evernote I was facing the same problem, not paying too much attention to it, but today I found a solution and started to test it, so, based on what I studied about it, I recommend trying Joplin here https://t.co/HGTJYw71FP , but only download it, use third parties for syncing.

@StormyJane7 It’s why I have to write it down on Evernote. I have notes upon notes. I also tell myself details all the time so I can remember. But yeah keeping those notes keep me sane

So I just wanted to send my poetry to Rekhta for Women's Day. I had written this beautiful poem which somehow satisfied the criteria. The problem is I can't find it anywhere. I tried searching my old diaries and Evernote & It's nowhere. Now I'm doubting myself if I ever wrote it.

Lessons from decluttering my Evernote system from 4.4k notes down to 1.3k (Thread)
- I overconsume a lot. So no more "nice tools" follows & newsletters anymore
- Use Instapaper as much as possible
- unsubscribing from at least 20 newsletters (still WIP)

@jimmisimpson @****olanemoore I have ADHD and MS. I use a color -coded Google calendar to keep track of appointments, to-dos, etc, & sync to my phone. I also use the free version of Evernote that lets me write down everything + add photos in notes on my laptop & sync to their app on my phone & vice versa.

@CatoMinor3 @evernote For me most important factor in taking notes is how quickly I can write something down. So I mostly use iOS notes, but it can be faster too. I have a Synology NAS, but their note app makes you log in before you can write.
