but if they're asking all OEMs to standardise or share their proprietary hardware like Phased Array antenna tech, that's probably too much to ask.

@dstreisman @Eutelsat_SA French don’t need Brussels for it. 🇫🇷 president can, by executive order, make them flip the switch and overnight 15m rural families will have Euronews on their TVs instead. And there is nothing 🇷🇺govt could do, unless they try to shoot that satellite down from orbit.

Built for a 15-year design life, the sat served 20+. Last week is was re-orbited 400+km above GEO, depressurized, electronics shut down, and then the final telemetry RF link terminated.

@histvnet @SevaniaNyav Yes, the main issue that a lot of population in Russia rely on satellite for television broadcasts, and Eutelsat aids in spreading poisonous misinformation. Also, I’m not sure if they broadcast for Belarus and occupied territories of Ukraine, those are within sat. coverage.
