@FrugalFH #AncestryHour Ancestry mis-reported the date of the issue. The record page shows the date of the issue in December it's the Supplement to.
When I viewed the image and saw the 1 January date I was gobsmacked.

Hi #AncestryHour! Has anyone broken part way through a brick wall, needed matching DNA, then found a potential match and gotten confirmation with a test? I might have found my 3x g-grands in Ireland, but will need a cousin to test to be sure. Daunted by the difficulty of it! 😬

Finally reported an issue with the 1901 #Census of #Canada on @Ancestry. Hopefully someone reads it!
It seems like @Ancestry botched an update at some point where male children no longer are listed as "Son" even though the writing in the image states it. #genealogy

@HistoricalTris1 @Chasing_My_Tale @Ancestry I like the idea of prompting the original poster to accept or reject new data, not unlike what MyHeritage does with matching people. Problem is, people copy the original image, and then re-upload it with (flawed) changes as if the original were their own.

None of the people who had copied my photo removed or moved it, probably because they remain unaware unless I message all of them.

Have you got access to facial recognition software - not always very helpful but you never know.
Problem is that close relatives can look more alike than the same person at different ages

@Chasing_My_Tale Your rage is not mispalced. The misappropriation and misuse of user submitted images is a problem @Ancestry really needs to solve. It is clear to me now why many users are watermarking their images. Not only was your image stolen, it was marred with false data. All too common 😡

@CristaCowan @Ancestry When the company spokesperson has to show a workaround for do***enting slavery-- a very common part of family history in the US-- there is a problem with the product. Slavery connects HUMAN PEOPLE and relationships should be do***ented as HUMAN CONNECTIONS not web links.

@AncestryUK digitising them means a) more will be available for the public to access (at cost, as now) & b) more records available for Ancestry subscribers. I don’t see the issue.

National Archives in Australia hold all WW2 service records in that format. My wife could track her Grandfather’s down very quickly. The fee was eqv to £30. I ***ume oldest archives digitised first?

@Barry_RSA I would like to see this as my grandfather was at the Battle of the Falklands too on HMS Invincible. He saw the German ships Scharnhorst and Gneisenau go down. Given all the eyewitnesses, you imagine it should be accurate. I wonder whether he ever saw the film. #AncestryHour
